V.Group Cadets - Tall Ships Essay Competition

Cadets invited to enter essay competition for a chance to sail on a tall ship

In partnership with Merseyside Adventure Sailing Trust (MAST) we are pleased to announce the launch of a special competition to give one lucky V.Group Cadet a chance to sail on a real tall ship.

Apprentice -cup -day 658

The winning cadet will sail from Dublin to Glasgow in June on board an old fashioned wind powered tall ship as part of the 2015 Apprenticeship Cup. What should our cadets do to ensure they are considered for this once in a lifetime opportunity?

Entries to the competition will take the form of a written essay from cadets on the subject of: “What inspired you to become a seafarer?” Essays must be written in English and be between 500-750 words long. Entries to the competition should be submitted to by 2359 GMT on 26th April 2015, with the email subject ‘Tall Ship Cadet’.

Essays will be judged by a V.Group panel, which will consist of representatives from Crew Management, Communications, and Seafarer Training. The panel will be looking for creativity and originality, grammar and spelling, and relevancy to the essay question in reaching their final outcome.

Full competition rules and details can be found HERE.
